Went to see my neice play Ice Hockey on Sunday. She is the netminder for Lee Valley Lions Under 16s. They wanted a team shot I had great fun getting some action shots. Good evening for me and them. They won 8-4.

My Hubby is a DIY fanatic and always seems to be able to make his own version of things that usually cost a fortune. I wanted a ring light so he made me one. Well hes made a few actually as we are convinced that other people will see the benefit of saving money over the shop bought time.

Anyway here is a picture of Bradley (first one taken with the light) and a couple of lights too. The blue bulbs are daylight bulbs.

I had never heard of a bumbo but this is David sitting in one. How Cute does he look. He hates sitting back and gets bored really quickly if you lay him down some his mummy plonks him in his bumbo and he is quite contented to look around like a big boy.

Not Good Weather, not bad weather - just weather. I love snow, sun, thunderstorms etc so when I looked out of the office window and saw this I had to pop up stairs and see if I could capture it. I don't think I have done it justice but at least if gives you an idea of what it was like.

I was asked by the Retail department to do some photography today. Naturally jumped at the chance but I always worry when the shots are for work. I was quite pleased with how they turned out especially considering the light down there. The photograhs are of a display cabinet and some of the merchandise.

Skating

What a brilliant day. Went to Canary Wharf Ice Rink today and was so proud of the kids. My two great nieces Sophie (aged just 3) and Isobel got on the ice for the first time and skated. Really skated. Let go of the sides and skated. It was great. Bradley has skated before and shot around all over the place. Wayne spent about 5 minutes with Andrew and he skated too. I really thought that after about 1/2 hour they would have had enough but no, they loved it. It was fabulous to see Ian with his the grandchildren and generally a lovely day. Hope we do it again soon.

Funky hair Friday

Bradley and Andrews school had a funky hair day when the kids could wear wigs, style their hair in as whacky a way as possible so long as they didn't use hair colour. Well we have no wigs and to be honest Bradleys is a tad too short to play with. So off we took him to the local barbers for some hair art. He loves it but wasn't too happy about being forced to have his pics taken.

SNOW DAY

Lay in bed last night with the blinds open so I would watch the snow falling. Woke up this morning thinking it must be about 4am as it was so quite. Ronie told me it was 6.30am. On when the travel news - all london buses cancelled. No wonder it was so quiet. Decided we would make an effort and try to get to work. So after shovelling snow and gritting it ourselves we finally managed to get the car on to the hill. Now we have got to work I am just worried about how bad it will be getting home again. Mind you it is beautiful isn't it!

A day trip

On Sunday we decided to take the boys into town. Andrew had watched a film about Oliver Cromwell on telly with his dad so was asking about Parliament. We took him to see Cromwells' sculpture and a few other famous landmarks. My landscape photography is not great as it doesn't appeal to me but still had fun while we were out and about.

Bless his heart he fell sound asleep and I very quickly got some shots done. Been playing with various photoshop actions today (something I haven't done for a while) Hope you like the results.

A car skidded into a spin tonight and hit a small van and flipped it onto its side. Despite all the ambulances it looked like there were only walking wounded .

because to be honest the set up was totally down to Cheryl Johnson of Feelgoodphotos. Cheryl came armed with tonnes of props and pressies for David and spent a lot of time setting the scenes for photographing him. I just dived in occasionally with my camera to have a play. So although I know I pressed the shutter the rest is down to Cheryl. Please check out her blog to see them.

In March a couple of West Ham players came to Canary Wharf and I took pictures. The press officer from WHU asked if I could send her a couple of pics. Only just got around to checking their website and they used one in a news story.

Had a lovely day on Sunday 28th with Cheryl Johnson and her sons Ethan and Theo. I have never met a boy who knew so much about football as Ethan. For someone who supports Arsenal he knew everthing there was to know about any other club or player that came up in converstation.

This is one Christmas I will remember. Not only is our first grandchild due very soon but this is the Christmas I got a fabulous Canon 5d Camera. Its a preloved baby but I am totally smitten and I have only had it a few hours. This is one of my first photographs with it. I didnt want to the post the very first ones as I was so impatient to use it that I was taking photos in the works car park. So with the kids in bed and only tree it had to be that. Tomorrow I am hoping to play with some new background material I bought and my new camera so fingers crossed that I can live up to my new camera.

Not sure its been so long since I blogged because I have taken photographs. I was disappointed with my shots from my Holiday at Newquay. I think its because the weather was awful so the pictures just aren't what I expected. However, we came back and watched the weather forcast. On Saturday it was going to be a scorcher. So packed up the car and headed off to Camber Sands. We had a lovely day and the weather was cracking. Had fun with the camera (even though I was a bit worried about taking it on the beach - sand etc. So here are a few.

A colleague of mine bought her two children to work today so that I could try and get some shots of them. It wasn't too bad but they quickly got bored. Got a few nice shots but not what I wanted. It was a good learning experience though. I found the mum wanted them staring down the lense where some of my fave shots are where they are not looking at the camera at all.

I can't believe how long it has been since I took pictures. Biking ridings not helping as I can't take my camera to work on the days I ride my bike. Luckily my niece came round today and as always was up for a photography session.

My beautiful niece Zowie finally married Ben on Saturday. After 7 years and three beautiful daughters Ben made a honest women of her and I have never seen anyone look quite so happy. I was disappointed with a lot of the pictures I took which only goes to tell me what I already knew, you have to have a very specific talent for wedding photography. I wouldn't mine assisting on some just to see how its done - Might be worth having a chat to a certain very talented photographer I know LOL. It was a lovely weekend though and I can't wait to go back to see Zowie and the girls and take some more shots of them.

It may be because no-one has shouted at me or maybe even noticed me when I take pictures of them in street but when this came up as an assignment i was very pleased. Since doing it and sharing the pictures I am suprised at how many people say that they are terrified of doing street photography, so this may be something you see more of from as I really enjoyed it.

Spent an extremely exhausting but fun weekend at my sisters. On the photography front it was a real disappointment - not enough time (too busy with party preps), not enough space (house was packed all weekend) and not enough light. Had fun making the rice crispy cake bunny nests and to be honest, thats probably one of the best pictures from the weekend.

Loving black and white. Bradley has dry skin and chapped lips at the moment, and is still really pasty from being ill last week. Loved the eyes in the colour version of this picture but the skin and lips made him look quite unwell. Had a little tweek in photoshop and coverted to Black and white and I am loving it.

Ok had some feedback on the first Image of Grace so I have had another go. This time in Black & White. Selected only the red channel then copied that so it was a double red channel. Then used the brush tool to fade the edges.

Royal Arsenal open day

Today the Royal Arsenal at Woolwich had a free entry day to residents of the borough. We have been before but decided to go again. Its a fascinate place and there are a few reinacters wandering about who are ready to stop and chat about all the facsinating things they know. Had a good wander round and managed to get back to the car avoiding the rain showers.

Lovely day today. Took the camera down at lunchtime to the park in front of the tower. Blue Peter crew are on the roof today and I was hoping to get a couple of shots of whatever they were up to. I had to settle for a few shots around the park. It was chillier than it looks but it was nice to get out of the office while it was still daylight.

This could be the beginning of the end. I have been avoiding the whole blogging thing but sometimes you just have to go against your better instincts. I was forced into bloggin' briefly last year when I was doing Cheryl Johnsons Masterclass photography course. A visiual diary was required and blogs were suggested as the best way forward. At least I know they are fairly simple to use. LOL I want somewhere to host my photographs - apart from Photobucket, but updating a website continually doesn't appeal to me either. So here we go. A photography blog. Anyway I went to Erith today with my 2 sons in the hope of getting some seagull shots. Bradley and Andrew threw the bread and the seagulls came and enjoyed. I had fun and took over 200 shots in under an hour.
